Emancipet’s 2017 Howl at the Moon Fest is a fun family-oriented, dog-friendly event that raises funds to assist families in the four-county area in having access to low-cost, high-quality veterinary care for their beloved pets. We invite business owners, entrepreneurs, crafters, shelters, rescues, clubs and non-profit organizations to participate in this community event, which is expected to attract more than 300 people. The festival will feature activities, games and contests, live music, food trucks, vendors, and, of course, the after-dark Glow Walk and the Howl at the Moon contest. Proceeds from the Howl at the Moon Fest will benefit Emancipet’s Killeen Clinic, which provides veterinary care for pets and their families in Bell, Coryell, Lampasas, and northern Williamson counties. Since opening in downtown Killeen in 2014, Emancipet has performed more than 15,500 spay/neuter surgeries, and completed greater than 27,500 Healthy Pet Services visits.
About Emancipet Emancipet is on a mission to make spay/neuter services and veterinary care affordable and accessible to all pet owners. We manage an expanding national network of high-quality, low-cost clinics in Central Texas, Houston, and Philadelphia; offer customized training and consulting programs to animal welfare organizations nationwide; and advocate for strategies and public policy that improve the lives of pets in underserved communities. Why do we do it? We love pets. They bring immeasurable joy to our lives and teach us about love, acceptance, and happiness. We believe that every pet needs and deserves high-quality veterinary care to keep them healthy and happy for their entire lives. But we know that sometimes a visit to the vet is financially out of reach for some families and inaccessible in some communities. We’re here to change that.
